Julio is an investor and founder of technology companies, both in Silicon Valley and in Brazil. Early in his career Julio became Facebook's first representative in Brazil, leading the company's growth efforts in the region. He left Facebook to found Peixe Urbano, at the time the largest online local services company in Latin America, growing the company to over 1,200 employees in 8 countries. After selling Peixe Urbano to Baidu, Julio moved back to San Francisco in 2016, and joined Prefer as its founding CEO.
Julio has been an active investor since 2011. He started investing as a founding partner of Graph Ventures, an angel fund that has invested in nearly 200 companies, mostly in Silicon Valley. Most recently, Julio has been active as a founding partner of Canary, Brazil's most active early stage venture fund, having invested in over 40 companies in the past 2 years.
Julio is a graduate of Stanford's Graduate School of Business and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he developed an appreciation for fine Philly cheesesteaks.
